The public utility Oncor has recently trimmed the trees along Hall Johnson Road and other locations in the Colleyville area, and the trimming was done per Oncor's authority to keep trees from impacting the electrical lines. The HMHOA Board is requesting that all of the residents take the time to observe the results of the trimming conducted by Oncor of the trees along the HMHOA wall, and also to provide feedback to the Board. The Board is requesting feedback as guidance for the Landscape Committee in dealing with the Hall Johnson tree issue, such as whether to continue to trim and thin the trees, remove the trees, or any other viable options. We recently learned that Oncor is scheduled to trim trees away from the power lines along Hall Johnson sometime in the month of November. We have been unable to narrow down the day or week this work has been scheduled, but wanted Highland Meadows homeowners to know of the work. It is our understanding that Oncor last trimmed the trees in the fall of 2015. As some of the branches are actually touching the power lines the trimming may be quite extensive. Oncor’s practice is to cut all branches within 10 feet of the power lines. The Tree and Landscape Committees will meet to review the work once Oncor is finished to determine next steps.
